Chigun Gunia epidemic in India
Chigun Gunia is just a viral fever spread by a kind of mosquito which is infected with a muted virus.
Last year it spread out in India, still the people who suffered with that fever are having joint pains. Physicians are telling it may last for about six months. Earlier they said the pain may last for 3 months.
When the pain is still not subsided they are telling it may subside in six months.
Since there is no vaccination available to this disease the health administrators could not help.
The symptoms are just like any viral fever and the fever will subside in a day or two, then the excruciating joint pains, muscle pain starts. Normally physicians prescribe analgesics and pain killers to reduce pain.
But administering NSAID like Dichlofenac Sodium for long time is not advisable as it may cause renal impairment.
So for at least one week one may use carticosteroid pain killers like methylprednisolone. Corticosteroids are produced in the body by adrenal glands. But this methylprednisolone is a synthetic one which controls inflammation. The side effects are ulceration, worsening of diabetes etc. But when compared to NSAID it is preferred by physicians to control the pain caused by chigun gunia pain.

Other uses of viagra - Pulmonary hypertension
Everyone aware that viagra is for treating erectile dysfunction. There are many jokes and over expectation out of it.
If we turn back the history of viagra research, it was developed to lower blood pressure and treat angina. But the researchers found the male erection as the side effect of using sildenafil. So the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer found a new product for erectile dysfunction and released the product viagra, i.e, the same sildenafil after a lot of clinical and safety tests.
Eversince viagra is known for traeting erectile dysfunction only. But the pathway of its action is blocking an enzyme called phospodiesterase type 5 - PDE5. By doing this it increases the blood flow to the penis. So it is concluded as a potent vasodilator which can be used to relax the blood vessels in other parts of the body say heart and lungs.
So doctors now opine that it is a good drug for lowering blood pressure and cordiac conditions. But doctors are warning not to take viagra along with nitrates which is used for chest pain or angina, because it could lead to dangerously low blood pressure which may be even fatal.
Since erectile dysfunction and coriovascular diseases have some thing in common, patients prescribed with viagra for heart condition, it improves the heart condition as well as erectile function.
So now scientists are of the opinion that viagra may be used to treat many other medical conditions like pulmonary hypertension. There is even incidents like doctors used viagra to save premature babies with breathing problems with highly fatal conditions.
